• Wipe off any oil on the spring lock cover so it does not slip when you hold the cover. Wear protective gloves.
• Loosen the lock nut (figure 12 and 13) and pull the cover a little bit toward you (see figure 14), so that it comes free
of the spring cover lock slot (figure 12). Note: It is important to keep a good grip during this step. Letting go of the
cover will cause the spring to rapidly uncoil.
• Rotate the cover counterclockwise to increase spring tension, or let the cover slowly unwind in a clockwise
direction to reduce spring tension.
• Engage the next available spring cover lock slot and push the spring lock cover back.
• Retighten the lock nut and replace the cover.
