3.2 Logical Structure
The ODU consists of the following logical subsystems: multiplexer subsystem, IF subsystem,
microwave subsystem, duplexer subsystem, control subsystem, and power subsystem.

The logical subsystems have the following functions:

Multiplexer subsystem:
This subsystem performs the combining and dividing functions with the IDU interactive
signals.
l
IF subsystem:
This subsystem implements functions such as the frequency conversion, filtering, power
amplification, and AGC on the TX/RX IF signals.
l
Microwave subsystem:
This subsystem implements functions such as the frequency conversion, filtering, power
amplification, and AGC on the TX/RX RF signals.
l
Duplexer subsystem:
This subsystem implements functions such as antenna sharing, filtering, and isolation on
the TX/RX RF signals.
