Ending a call with a zone- Press 99#

If a LyncPad is installed in the zone, pressing either of the left or right Zone buttons will end the call.  Similarly, the
person who initiated the call can end the call with a particular zone by pressing 99#.  At that point, the caller can
connect with a different zone by pressing the code for that zone.  That is, it is not necessary to hang up and call back
to reach another zone.

Disconnecting

Phone-to-Zone™ is intended to be used in the same manner as intercom.  It is not expected that either party will talk
for long periods of time without interruption.  With this in mind, we have set the DI-21 to automatically disconnect
from a zone after 3 minutes from the last press of the Talk button on a LyncPad.  This is to prevent the call from
accidentally being left connected indefinitely should either the caller forget to press 99# or the person in the zone
never presses one of the Zone buttons to end the call.  Note that when calling into a zone that does not have a
LyncPad installed, it is imperative that the caller press 99# before hanging up the phone.  Otherwise, Phone-to-
Zone™ will not be available for a future call and the zone itself will be locked up.

BEST PRACTICE:  Always press 99# before hanging up your phone

in order to ensure the connection with a zone was disconnected.

Troubleshooting

I am able to successfully complete a call to my dedicated Skype account, but I cannot get connected to a zone.
Make sure the back of the DI-21 is set to “P2Z” and that the microphone jack on your third-party device is connected
to the audio “OUT” on the DI-21 and that the headphone jack on your third-party device is connected to the audio
“IN” on the DI-21.

I can successfully place a call to a particular zone, but when I hang up and call back I am already connected with
that same zone.  It is important to press 99# on your phone to end your call with a particular zone (or have the
person in that zone press one of the Zone buttons to end the call).  Otherwise, when you call back, the DI-21 may still
have a live connection with a zone.  Press 99# to disconnect.  If a zone has become locked up and pressing 99# does
not clear it, you may need to power cycle the main controller as well as the DI-21.

I added a Skype number to my dedicated Phone-to-Zone account, but when I call it I only receive a busy signal.
Skype™ has acknowledged this to be a problem for some customers.  The work-around is to change the Skype™
settings (point 3. above) to: Allow calls to my Skype™ number(s) from . . . “anyone”.  If necessary, you can still choose
to block a specific caller.  Due to this issue and others, we do NOT recommend using a Skype number with Phone-to-
Zone™.

Now that I have connected Phone-to-Zone™, the door station at my Back Door no longer works.  When using the
Phone-to-Zone feature, the Back Door feature will be unavailable, and vice versa.  That said, it is possible to plug your
Back Door station into the same RJ45 port as the Front Door station using a Cat5-Y adapter.  The only downside is
that you will not be able to distinguish (by the sound file or display on a LyncPad) if the ring was initiated by someone
at the front door or back door.
