Removing the access panel
WARNING:

system components to cool before touching them.

To prevent damage to electrical components, take the appropriate anti-static precautions
before beginning any installation, removal, or replacement procedure. Improper grounding can
cause electrostatic discharge.
CAUTION:
Do not operate the server for long periods with the access panel open or removed.
Operating the server in this manner results in improper airflow and improper cooling that can lead to
thermal damage.

Procedure

Do one of the following:

Extend the server from the rack

Remove the server from the rack

Open or unlock the locking latch, slide the access panel to the rear of the chassis, and remove the
access panel.
