Use the left and right arrow keys to navigate the different menu options. When a menu option is
selected, the top-level screen for that option appears.

Use the up and down arrow keys to scroll up and down to select an item on a top-level screen. When
the up and down arrow keys are pressed, the only options that are highlighted are the options that
can be modified.

If an item can be modified, user instructions for modifying the option appear in the right column of
the screen.

If an item is a link to a sub-screen, a prompt to press
Enter
to access the sub-screen appears in
the right column.

Modify the setup item and press
F4
to save the changes and exit the screen.

Follow the instructions on the
Save & Exit
menu screen to save or discard your changes and exit the
BIOS setup utility.
BIOS maintenance
This section provides information about upgrading the BIOS, clearing the BIOS password, clearing
CMOS, BIOS recovery, and a BIOS jumper description.
BIOS Setup Password Protection
BIOS provides a security feature to restrict accessing/modifying BIOS Setup, and booting system.
The following description shows how BIOS security feature works. The rule is also listed in Password
Logic.
If both administrator password and user password are set to BIOS.
o
End-User who enters administrator password gets the full authority to modify BIOS Setup
settings or select boot device to boot OS through BBS popup menu.
o
End-User who enters user password gets the limited authority to modify BIOS Setup settings
and can only boot to the BIOS Setup specified boot device.
o
If no password entered or an invalid password entered over three times to a system with
password, the system will halt until reset.
If a BIOS password has not been set, End-User can press hotkey to enter BIOS directly with
a
dministrator’s authority.
If only administrator password is set in BIOS, End-User need enter the valid password to enter
BIOS Setup. If you don
’t input the password and press the “Enter” key directly, then it will enter the
BIOS Setup with the user mode.
If only user password is set in BIOS, End-User can get administrator
’s authority with user password.
End-User need enter the valid password to enter BIOS Setup or continue the boot process.
Either administrator password or user password can be cleared by entering a null string when
create new password. Both of administrator password and user password will be cleared after
password clear jumper is set to clear location.
