Before removing the home button board, follow these steps:
1.
Turn off the tablet. If you are unsure whether the tablet is off or in Hibernation, turn the tablet on, and
then shut it down through the operating system.
2.
Disconnect the power from the tablet by unplugging the power cord from the tablet.
3.
Disconnect all external devices from the tablet.
4.
Remove the back cover (see
Back cover on page 39
).
5.
Disconnect the tablet battery cable from the system board (see
Tablet battery on page 44
).
6.
Remove the tablet I/O board (see
Tablet I/O board on page 59
).
Remove the home button board:
1.
Remove the two Philllips PM1.5×3.5 screws
(1)
that secure the home button board and bracket to the
tablet frame.
2.
Remove the home button board bracket

The home button board bracket is included in the display assembly spare part kit.
3.
Remove the home button board
(3)
.
Reverse this procedure to install the home button board.
