Removing an Optical Drive
CAUTION:
All removable media should be taken out of a drive before removing the drive from the
computer.
To remove an optical drive:
1.
Prepare the computer for disassembly (
Preparation for Disassembly on page 42
).
2.
Remove the access panel (
Access Panel on page 43
).
3.
Remove the front bezel (
Front Bezel on page 44
).
4.
Disconnect the power cable

and data cable
(2)
from the rear of the optical drive.

Pull out the drive latch and swing it to the left

, then slide the drive out of the front of the chassis

Reverse the removal procedure to install an optical drive.
If installing a new optical drive in a previously unused drive bay, first remove the break-away EMF
shield from the front of the PC.
