1. Remove the I/O side frame ( I/O side frame on page 28 ).
2. Remove the bottom shield ( Bottom shield on page 29 ).
3. Remove the system board ( System board on page 35 ).
Remove the fan:
1. Turn the system board right side up with the front toward you.
2. Disconnect the fan cable (1) from the system board.
3. Remove the two Phillips M2.0 × 4.0 screws (2) that secure the fan to the system board.
4. Remove the fan (3).
Reverse this procedure to install the fan.
Heat sink
To remove the heat sink, use these procedures and illustrations.

Before removing the heat sink, follow these steps:
1. Prepare the Chromebox for disassembly ( Preparation for disassembly on page 27 ).
2. Remove the bottom cover ( Bottom cover on page 27 ), and then remove the following components:
1. Remove the I/O side frame ( I/O side frame on page 28 ).
2. Remove the bottom shield ( Bottom shield on page 29 ).
3. Remove the system board ( System board on page 35 ).
4. Remove the fan ( Fan on page 37 ).
