Green Mains Light
The green mains light will stay
on as long as the electricity supply
is not interrupted.
Red Temperature Warning Light
The red temperature warning light will come on when the
freezer is first switched on or when the temperature inside
the compartment rises above the correct storage
temperature. It may come on for up to 30 minutes during
automatic defrost or when opening the freezer door to load
or unload food. In these cases storage times will not be
affected.
Amber Light
The amber light indicates fast freeze is set to ‘I’ (ON) position.

Under certain circumstances
condensation may form on the
outside of the freezer. As a
precaution, a low watt heater is
fitted. For normal conditions move
slider to (Fig 1). If condensation
is seen on the outside of the
freezer cabinet, or the fast freeze
switch is operated for a long period

Your freezer rating is . It can be used to freeze fresh or cooked
food and is suitable for the long term storage of commercially frozen foods.
Controlling the Temperature
of the Freezer Compartment
WARNING: Freezers must not be placed in a room where the
temperature goes below the minimum or above maximum
specified, for prolonged periods (see checklist).
Your freezer is fitted with a factory set thermostat control which does not
require any adjustment.
Note: The Fast Freeze switch should normally be in the ‘O’ position.
In summer or conditions giving high temperatures around the
freezer the compressor will run for longer periods, conversely
during winter, the compressor will run for much shorter periods.
To check that your appliance maintains the correct temperature a
freezer thermometer is available from Hotpoint Genuine Parts &
Accessories Mail Order Hotline.
WARNING: Do not use a mercury filled thermometer as breakage
would cause a health hazard.
To improve air circulation, distribute food evenly throughout the
compartments and do not line the upper compartment shelf or baskets
with paper, plastic or foil.

No Defrosting
Your appliance is frost free and defrosting is carried out
automatically. However, Hotpoint recommend that you
clean the interior periodically.
Cleaning the Interior
WARNING: Switch off electrical supply and pull out
mains plug before cleaning.
1. Remove frozen food, wrap in several layers of paper
or a blanket and store in a cool place.
2. Remove storage baskets, by pulling towards you until
basket reaches it’s stop, lift and remove.

4. Wipe interior with a clean cloth wrung out in a
solution of either one teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda
to one pint of water or Milton™ sterilising fluid, diluted
according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
5. Dry interior thoroughly with a clean cloth.
6. Replace storage baskets.
7. Refit fast freeze and top compartment doors by
positioning compartment door pins beneath hinges and
lifting compartment door to relocate pins into hinges.
8. Replace mains plug and switch on.
9. Unwrap frozen food and replace.

Freezing
Fresh Food
1. If the freezer has not been used or if freezing
more than 50% of the maximum freezing
capacity (see checklist), select Fast Freeze by
moving slider to the ‘I’ (ON) position (Fig 3) 24
hours before storing fresh food.
2. Move Anti-condensation slider to .
Note: If freezing less than 50% of the
maximum capacity, select Fast Freeze and
Anti-condensation when loading fresh food.
3. Transfer already frozen food from the fast
freeze compartment to the storage baskets or
top compartment.
4. Place fresh food as far back as possible in the
fast freeze compartment.
5. After 24 hours, reset both the Fast Freeze and
Anti-condensation switches to their original
positions.
