7. Air conditioning
There are three air conditioning units located at the control panel. The upper
unit controls the port cabins, the middle unit the saloon and the lower unit
controls the starboard cabins.
The air conditioning units will operate when the vessel is plugged into shore
power or when the generator is running. To turn on your A/C unit, switch
one unit on first, wait 5 minutes then turn the other unit on at the 110v
panel. This will prevent overloading the generator. Next, press the “Cool”
button on the air con unit until the “cool” mode is selected; i.e. the word cool
in illuminated in green.
You can control the base temperature by using the Up and Down buttons.
Never turn the temperature lower than 70 degrees, this results in the AC
units freezing up and not producing and cold air at all. Fan speed can be
altered from fast to slow by pressing the Fast and Slow buttons. Once the
interior of the vessel has reached optimum temperature it is advisable to
reduce fan speed to maintain the
current temperature.
Please ensure that before
unplugging the vessel from shore
power or stopping the generator
that you have first switched off
the air conditioning units.
Switch the units off at the control
panels first, by pressing the off
button until the green light
beside the “off” mode is illuminated. Once the compressors have closed
down; turn off the switches on the 110v panel.
Note: If one or both of the A/C units shuts down while the generator is
running it may be because the breaker on the generator has tripped. Turn off
you’re A/C unit, then turn off the A/C breakers on the 110v panel. Reset the
double poled breaker in the generator. Now turn your A/C breakers and A/C
unit.
