Maintenance and storage of the ion electrode
For the detailed procedures for maintaining and storing electrodes, refer to the
instruction manual for each electrode. This section describes an overview of the
procedures for maintenance and storage to be performed as part of daily use.
• Daily storage of the electrode
While the electrode is stored, the concentration of the reference internal solution (outer
tube) may change. For this reason, replace the reference internal solution (outer tube)
with a dropper or similar tool about once a week to once a month.
When storing the electrode, immerse it in the solution indicated below depending on the
electrode type.
• When the electrode will not be used for a long period
To store the electrode for a long period, follow the electrode storage procedure below.
1. Remove the electrode tip from the electrode and put the rubber cap.
2. Put the protective cap on the electrode. Be sure to keep the protective cap dry.
3. Store both the electrode tip and the electrode in a dry place.
Note
Before reuse, condition the electrode as indicated in “ Ion concentration measurement ”
(page 38).
