6. Secure the rescue pole to your
wrist using the WristBandit Tool
Lanyard (see Fig. 8) to ensure
that the pole will not fall should
you lose your grip. Simply wrap
the velcro strap around your
wrist and cinch the lanyard cord
tight around the pole.
7. Loosen threaded collars on rescue pole and extend pole as needed
(see Fig. 9) to be able to reach the suspended person. Once
required length is achieved, tighten threaded collars.
8. Feed the rope through the backup braking system (premium kit) or
upper pulley (standard kit) while carefully applying pressure down-
ward with the rescue pole to reach the suspended worker. Hook the
open carabiner into the back D-ring of the fallen worker's harness
(see Fig. 10) and apply a quick pull to the rescue pole to release the
carabiner from the carabiner clip. Unhook the WristBandit and set
rescue pole aside.
