The OSD (on-screen display) can permanently overlay text information on the
video. Once enabled, text is permanently overlayed onto the image (see

). The DVM system is also capable of overlaying text information on

the image, but can be enabled or disabled during viewing (it is not permanently
overlayed onto the image).
