The letter represents the year (in this case 1999) and the digits represent the day of the
year (in this case the 1

of January).
If your tool has a date code of B001 or earlier this programming tool should have a
jumper in it which is set to 12V. You will need to follow the instructions for
“
SWITCHING YOUR JUMPER
” to make your programming tool compatible with our
new GSM module.
**All 7720P Programming tools manufactured prior to the year 1979 have a Y
indicating the year. Units manufactured since 1979 to present day the year is indicated
by a letter with the following pattern:
A = 1979
B = 1980
C = 1981
D = 1982
E = 1983
F = 1984
G = 1985
H = 1986
I = OMITTED
J = 1987
K = 1988
L = 1989
M = 1990
N = 1991
O = OMITTED
P = OMITTED
Q = OMITTED
R = 1992
S = 1993
T = 1994
U = OMITTED
V = OMITTED
W = OMITTED
X = 1995
Y = 1996
Z = 1997
A = 1998
B = 1999
