General
The Viewguard PIR detector is a motion detector based on the passi-
ve infrared (PIR) principle. The connection to a hazard detection sys-
tem is done wireless via the RF BUS-2 wireless receiver (Item no.
015600 or 015600.01). The wireless connection by means of a bidi-
rectional radio link guarantees a rapid and clean installation, while
providing very high connection and communication safety.
In its state at the time of delivery, it is equipped with a mirror for area
optics. If required, the detector can be easily retrofitted with long-
range or curtain optics (for further details, see chapter 15.2 "View-
guard PIR mirror sets").
Under extreme (weather) conditions, such as a long and persistent
heat wave, the PIR function may be impaired for physical reasons.
- FAI function: The detector that is triggered first, can be identified with
the aid of the LED indication.
- Range settable in 4 stages
- Sensitivity programmable in 2 stages
- Cyclic radio feedback signal
- Temperature alarm, threshold programmable
- Monitoring of operating voltage with fault transmission
- Tamper and Backtamper
Common switch for tamper and backtamper.
The tamper is always active, the backtamper can be used when
necessary (see 8.5).
Only released batteries (Art. No. 015605) may be used on the
Viewguard PIR RF detector. The life of the batteries depends on the
detector type used, the application temperature and other ambient
conditions, for example the number of detector actuations. Store bat-
teries no longer than 3 years, observe production date!
Risk of explosion if batteries are changed incorrectly! Battery disposal
as specified by manufacturer!

4.1 Cyclic feedback
4.2 Monitoring of operating voltage (battery)
In the "armed" and "disarmed" states, the correct functioning of the radio
transmission line is monitored cyclically.
If a malfunction is detected, a corresponding message is transmitted to
the control panel.
The operating voltage of the detector is monitored to ensure that the
specified minimum value is observed.
If the value falls below the minimum, a corresponding message is
transmitted to the control panel.
The life of the batteries may become shortened by increased
current consumption of the radio users in case of alarm,
frequent actuations, radio interferences or poor radio line.
We recommend to change the battery at least every 2 years
when a routine maintenance is already done.
The batteries must be replaced within 4 weeks (30 days)
following the fault message.
