Removal
Make sure the ignition switch is in the
(Off) position.

Remove the battery cover by removing
the tool kit and the screw.
3.
Disconnect the negative
-
terminal from
the battery.
4.
Disconnect the positive
+
terminal from
the battery.
5.
Disconnect the battery breather tube.
6.
Remove the battery taking care not to
drop the terminal nuts.

Installation
Install the parts in the reverse order of
removal. Always connect the positive
+
terminal first. Make sure that bolts and nuts
are tight.
For proper handling of the battery, see
“Battery Goes Dead.”
Make sure breather tube is connected to the
battery breather outlet. The battery breather
tube must be routed as shown on the label.
Do not bend or twist the breather tube.
NOTICE
A bent or kinked breather tube may pressurize
the battery and damage its case.
