Inspecting the Rear Brake Lever
Freeplay
1.
Place the vehicle on its centre stand.
2.
Measure the distance the rear brake lever
moves before the brake takes hold.
Freeplay at the tip of the brake lever:
10 - 20 mm (0.4 - 0.8 in)
Check the brake cable for kinks or signs of
wear. If necessary have it replaced by your
dealer.
Lubricate the brake cable with a
commercially available cable lubricant to
prevent premature wear and corrosion.
Make sure the brake arm, spring and fastener
are in good condition.
