FRICTION
Steer by moving the tiller handle
opposite the direction you want the
boat to turn.
To reverse direction, turn the
outboard motor 180°, and then
pivot the tiller handle as shown. Be
careful not to hold and move the
throttle grip when pivoting the
tiller handle.
Use the steering friction bolt to help
hold a steady course while cruising.
Turn the bolt clockwise to increase
steering friction for holding a steady
course.
Turn the bolt counterclockwise to
decrease friction for easy turning.
