SERVICING YOUR PUMP
AIR CLEANER SERVICE
Move the choke lever to the CLOSED (upwards) position (see page 9).
Press the latch tab on the top of the air cleaner cover. Tilt the top of the
air cleaner cover back and unhook the two lower tabs, and remove the
cover. Check the air filter to be sure it is clean and in good condition.
If the air filter is dirty, clean it as described on page 36. Replace the air
filter if it is damaged.
Reinstall the air filter and air cleaner cover.
Operating the engine without an air filter, or with a damaged air filter,
will allow dirt to enter the engine, causing rapid engine wear. This type
of damage is not covered under the Distributor’s Limited Warranty
(U.S.) / Distributor’s Warranty (CA.)
