CHAIN OILER
FILLING THE OIL RESEVOIR
The oil reservoir has a capacity su ffi cient to provide about 40 minutes of cu ng me (when set to deliver the minimum fl ow rate)
1 Ή
Place the pole pruner on a clean, fl at surface with the oil fi ller cap facing up.
Wipe o ff any debris from the oil cap and from around the oil fi ller neck.
2 Ή
Remove the oil fi ller cap and fi ll the reservoir with bar and chain oil, then replace the cap.
3 Ή
Wipe up spilled oil from the unit before restar ng the pole pruner.
ADJUSTING OIL FLOW RATE
The guide bar and chain are lubricated automa cally by a pump that operates whenever the chain rotates, the pump is set at the factory to
deliver a medium fl ow rate, but it can be adjusted in the fi eld. A temporary increase in oil fl ow is o en desireable when cu ng things like
hardwood or wood with a lot of pitch.
ADJUST THE PUMP AS FOLLOWS:

Stop the engine and make sure the stop switch is in the
STOP posi on.
2 Ή
Place the unit on it’s side with the oil Reservoir up
3 Ή
With a screw driver, push in on the oil fl ow rate adjus ng
screw and turn in the desired direc on (there are
three incremental se ngs):
ͫ CLOCKWISE ͳ DECREASE LUBRICATION
ͫ COUNTERCLOCKWISE ͳ INCREASE LUBRICATION
NEVER FILL THE OIL RESERVOIR NOR ADJUST THE OILER WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING.
