2. Before placing a child in the
child restraint, make sure it is
securely held in place. Refer to
your child restraint manufacturer
instructions.
Replacing Restraint System Parts
After an Accident
If the top tether anchor fittings were
used during an accident, new
anchor fittings may be needed.
New parts and repairs may be
necessary even if the top tether
anchor fittings were not being used
at the time of the accident.
ISOFIX Child Restraint
Systems
ISOFIX mounting brackets are
indicated by the
H
label on the
seatback.
Fasten vehicle-approved ISOFIX
child restraint systems to the
ISOFIX mounting brackets.
In addition to the ISOFIX mounting,
fasten the top-tether strap(s) to the
top tether anchorage points. See
Top Tether Anchor Fittings on
page 3-26
Securing Child Restraints
When securing a child restraint in a
rear seating position, study the
instructions that came with the child
restraint to make sure it is
compatible with this vehicle.
If the child restraint has a top tether,
see
for how and where to
install the child restraint using Top
Tether Anchor Fittings.
Do not secure a child seat in a
position without a top tether anchor
if the instructions that come with the
child restraint say that the top tether
anchor fittings must be anchored.
Be sure to follow the instructions
that came with the child restraint.
Secure the child in the child restraint
when and as the instructions say.
If more than one child restraint
needs to be installed in the rear
seat, be sure to read
1. Put the child restraint on
the seat.
