GTV Poland Sp. z o.o. Sp. k., ul. Przejazdowa 21, 05-800 Pruszków
symbol will appear on the display screen and the green light will light up.
Place the device on the test surface and move it to the left / or right / in the same direction. As the device approaches a metal object,
the signal strength on display screen 9 will gradually increase and the percentage of strength will gradually increase. As the device
moves away from the object, the scale decreases and the percentage of intensity decreases. When the signal received by the device
reaches its maximum value, this means that the metal object is positioned directly below the centre of the detector. Then the Centre
icon will be displayed on the screen
When metal is detected, a yellow or red light on the detector lights up and the device emits a constant sound.
The red light on the detector flashes when it detects both a metal signal and an electric current (AC) and the instrument emits an
intermittent beep.
When the detector displays a non-magnetic metal symbol, this means that the object measured is usually a copper wire or tube.
When the magnetic metal symbol is displayed on the detector, it means that the object currently measured is essentially a steel rod.
When the detector does not display magnetic or non-magnetic metal symbols, this means that the object currently measured is
essentially an alloy.
When the alternating current symbol on the instrument flashes, it means that there is an alternating current signal nearby.
Note:
During metal detection, the detection depth value will be displayed on the display screen synchronously with the detection
operation. The accuracy of the depth value is related to the shape and material of the measured metal and the properties of the
environment of the measured object. When the object to be measured is a standard 18 mm diameter steel rod or an 18 mm diameter
copper tube, the accuracy of the depth value is best. Otherwise, the depth value can only be used as an approximate reference.
WARNING!
In some cases, the device may not be able to accurately identify live cables in walls if internal components fail or are not handled
properly. Therefore do not rely solely on the device to detect the presence of dangerous live wires. Other evidence such as construction
drawings or visual identification of cabling or pipe entry points should also be used.
If the wall contains live cables, do not take potentially hazardous actions. Remember to disconnect power, gas and water before
drilling holes or pins in the wall.
- Concrete, brick and ceramic surfaces have a shielding effect on electric field signals, so when testing on these types of surfaces
it can affect the detection of the AC signal. Live cables can be more easily detected when electrical appliances are connected to
them and switched on.
- The signal during the detection of live cables spreads from both sides of the actual cable, which results in a much wider area
detected by the sensor than the actual cable width.
- AC signals come mainly from live cables, but can also come from static or environmentally induced electricity. Placing your hand on
the wall next to the detector can help eliminate static and inductive electricity.
- The signal strength of a live cable depends on the cable position. Therefore, take further measurements in the vicinity or use other
information to check live cables.
- Non-voltage cables may be detected as metallic objects and thin cables may not be detected.
DETECTION OF WOODEN PROFILES:
• Maximum detection depth: exact mode: 20 mm; deep mode: 38 mm. Press the button for a long time to switch between accurate/
deep mode
• The wood profile detection mode detects objects in plasterboard, plywood, raw wood floors and coated wood walls.
• The wood profile detection mode does not detect concrete, mortar, lumps, bricks, carpets, foils, metal surfaces, tiles, glass or
other dense materials.
• The depth of sensitivity and accuracy will vary depending on moisture content, material content, wall texture and paint
• The wood profile detection mode can also detect metals and other dense materials such as water pipes and plastic pipes near
the back of walls or ceiling surfaces. To help identify the wooden profile, first scan the metal and mark the location of the metal
objects detected. Scanning is then performed in wood profile detection mode. Objects detected in the wood profile detection
mode, but not detected in the metal detection mode, may be wooden profiles.
Press the Wooden Profile Detection button to enter detection mode, and a Wooden Profile Detection icon will appear on the screen.
When detecting wood profiles, first place the device vertically to the wall and then press the button for wood profile detection. Before
starting the detection operation, hold the instrument in place for 1-3 seconds and wait for the instrument to calibrate (the green
light is on during this time).
Apply the device with the sensor surface to the surface to be tested, and then move evenly and slowly left (or right) in the same
direction. Do not lift the device or apply additional pressure.
When the instrument is close to the edge of a wooden profile, the display screen will synchronously display the percentage of the
signal, and the border icon with the same direction will gradually be displayed.
When the instrument is on the edge of a wooden block, the Edge 8 sign is displayed. Continue moving the instrument in the same
direction, the Edge 8 sign will turn off and the second half of the Edge 8 icon will gradually appear. When the instrument is in the
middle of a wooden profile, the Center sign of all edge icons on both sides appears on the display. A red light will come on, and the
buzzer will make an intermittent sound. A long sound is the maximum percentage of the signal.
Now move on in the same direction, the Center icon will go out, the buzzer will stop sounding and the border icon will gradually
go out as the device moves away. When the device is on the other edge of a wooden profile, the Edge 8 sign will be displayed on
the device and a border icon will be displayed on the corresponding half of the page. The percentage of the signal will be displayed
synchronously. Continue moving the instrument until it is far from the wooden profile. The percentage of the signal decreases gra-
dually and the edge icon disappears gradually. When the device cannot detect the wooden profile and the green light comes on, the
detection operation is completed.
