CHARGING
Before using the impact driver charge the battery as
follows.
1. Connect the charger’s power cord to an AC outlet.
When the power cord is connected, the charger’s
pilot lamp will blink slowly. (At 1-second intervals.)
2. Insert the battery into the charger.
Position the battery so that the nameplate faces
toward the ventilation slots of the charger and push
in the battery until it contacts the bottom plate. (See
Figs. 1 and 3.)
When the rechargeable battery is connected to the
charger, charging will commence and the pilot lamp
will light on. It takes about an hour to fully charge
the battery at a temperature of around 209C.
When the battery is fully charged, the pilot lamp
will blink slowly. (At 1-second intervals.) (See Table
1.)
3. Disconnect the charger’s power cord from the AC
outlet.
4. Hold the charger firmly and pull out the battery.
CAUTIONS
䡬
If the battery has been heated (due to sunlight, etc.)
right after operation, the charger’s pilot lamp may
not light on. In such a case, first let the battery cool,
then start charging.
䡬
If the pilot lamp blinks quickly (at 0.2-second inter-
vals), check for and take out any foreign objects in
the charger’s battery installation hole. If there are
no foreign objects, it is probable that the battery
or charger is malfunctioning. Take it to your author-
ized Service Agent.
