Using a Headset

Connecting a 
headset

To use a headset with the SelecSet 400A, you must 
connect the 400A by plugging it into the standard handset 
jack.  

Headset modes

Three headset modes are available: 

Check with your administrator to find out which headset 
mode is in effect for your system.

Mode

Description

Switchhook mode

1

Disconnect the handset from the handset port and 
connect the headset to the handset port 

2

To place or answer a call, remove the handset from the 
cradle.

3

Press <SPK> and listen/speak through the headset 
(Headset mode is not turned on in the SelecSet 400A’s 
basic class).

4

To disconnect,  press <SPK>

Headset mode

1

Your SelecSet 400A rings. Press <START> to 
answer/disconnect. The handset remains in the cradle.

2

Listen/speak through the headset. (Headset mode is 
turned on in the SelecSet 400A’s BCL.)
