VACUUM COMPARTMENT
●
Seals the Vacuum Compartment, and lowers the air pressure inside the case into the vacuum state (under low-
oxygen conditions) by using the vacuum pump. Vitamin Case helps to suppress oxidization of foods.
●
The natural nutrients and good fl avor in the foods are preserved in a longer period than before due to
suppression of oxidization.
●
The vacuum effect will not change even if foods are wrapped.
Note: The word vacuum used here means the space where the air pressure inside is lower than the atmospheric pressure. The air pressure
in the Vacuum Compartment is approximately 0.8 atm. which is lower than the atmospheric pressure, so we call such state as vacuum.

Display "Vacuum Compartment Subzero" or "Vacuum Compartment Chiller" on the Control Panel for
operation to use this function.

It is also available as a normal Ice Compartment (-1˚C) by selecting "OFF".

To be used as a guide under the conditions that the ambient temperature is 30˚C and is stable.
Be sure to open the left/right door of the Refrigerator Compartment.
Hold the door handle on the bottom
with your hand.
Lift the handle to release the
lock.
Push in until the end while holding the handle.
When the hissing sound stops, pull the handle towards you to open.
Fully press down the handle to lock the door.
Vitamin Case (on the ceiling inside the Vacuum Compartment)
This lets out vitamin to preserve natural nutrients in the foods for a longer period under low-
oxygen conditions.

Raise the handle to unlock it. The vacuum will be
released by the vacuum release valve.
Hissing sound is generated when releasing the vacuum.

Sound or vibration occurs when the vacuum pump starts to run in order to lower the air pressure inside the Vacuum Compartment. Such
operating sound or vibration is not abnormal.
●
The vacuum pump operates after the door of the Vacuum Compartment is locked and the door of the Refrigerator Compartment is closed.
It takes about 3 minutes to achieve the vacuum state after the vacuum pump starts the operation. If the door is opened before 3 minutes
pass, no hissing sound may be generated. Check the vacuum state after 3 minutes and more.

The displayed characters will disappear about 2 minutes after the operation fi nishes. However,

(Quick Cooling) and eco operation indicator lamps
will not be turned off. Push either button to check the setting. The indicator lamp will be turned on again.

The Vitamin Case needs no replacement on regular basis. Do not remove it.

Juicy foods may be frozen because it
is preserved at the temperature lower
than “Vacuum Compartment Chiller”.

The door can not be opened
when the hissing sound can
still be heard.

The Vacuum Compartment will not be opened
unless the left/right door is opened. If you try to
open it forcedly, the double pocket or the Vacuum
Compartment may get damaged or the door of the
Refrigerator Compartment will open suddenly.

Close and lock the door of the Vacuum Compartment before
closing the door of the Refrigerator Compartment. If the door
of the Refrigerator Compartment is closed with the door of
the Vacuum Compartment opened, the double pocket, the
Vacuum Compartment or foods may be damaged.
●
Hold down the handle to the end. Or
the Vacuum function will not work
properly.

If the handle is heavy, use the palm to
hold it down.
