1) If no Smart Card is in the unit and
"SAT"
is selected from remote or front panel, the
unit will display:
"Please insert your ac-
cess card."
As soon as the card is inserted, the unit
will recognize the card immediately.
2) By entering
"Guide"
the channels avail-
able by satellite provider will be seen. All
cards should give access to all Direct TV
promo channels
(Previews and services)
.
3) If the Smart Card is inserted backwards or
on the wrong side, the unit will display:
"Please insert a valid access card."
4) If the Smart Card was pulled out of DM-1
module while unit was on, according to
the Smart Card and the access level cus-
tomer is authorized to receive, unit will
go back to last channel selected on that
specific card. In other words, if the se-
lected channel was 300
(Direct TV
promo)
and the Smart Card is taken out or
switched, the set will go to same channel
300 on the new card.
5) If channel 500
(5.1 Dolby Digital
promo)
was selected on a card that has
access to it, and a different Smart Card
is inserted that doesn't have access to
this channel, the unit will display:
"To start service, please call customer
service, ext. 711"
Or it may display:
"You have inserted the wrong card.
Please insert the proper access card.”
6) If there is no satellite signal available
for whatever reason, the unit will dis-
play:
" Searching for satellite signal.
Please stand by"
.
This window will last 4 minutes on
screen and it will go away. This is an
indication that there in not signal avail-
able. If unit is given a good strong sat-
ellite signal, unit will display channels
immediately. Just access
"Guide"
to
see what is available".
