How the switchover affects your
TV equipment:
YournewTVhasadigitaltunerbuiltin,whichmeansitisready
toreceivethe
Freeview signal
bysimplypluggingitinto
youraerialsocket(checkifyoucangetdigitalTVthroughyour
aerialnow,orwhetheryou’llhavetowaituntilswitchover,

WhentheTVswitchoverhappensinyourarea,thereareatleast
twooccasionswhenyouwillneedtore-tuneyourTVinorderto
continuereceivingyourexistingTVchannels,andalsotopickup
newones.DigitalUK,thebodyleadingthedigitalTVswitchover,
willadviseyouwhenyouneedtore-tuneduringtheswitchover.
IfyouchoosetoconnectyourTVtosatelliteorcablewithadigital
boxthenitwillnotbeaffectedbyswitchover,andyouwon’tneed
tore-tune.
How to re-tune:
Ifyouaremissinganychannels,itmaybethattheyarenot
availableinyourarea,orthatyouraerialneedsupgrading.

With your TV in digital TV mode, press ‘Menu’ on your remote

enu options on screen, select ‘Installation’. Select
‘First Time Installation’ to re-tune your digital TV (not ‘Add
New Channels’)
.

If you do not re-tune your channels when advised to do so
by Digital UK, you may lose some or all of your channels until
you do re-tune. You should re-tune your Freeview every few
months to check for any new channels.
