Checking Manifold Gas Pressure

To be performed by a CERTIFIED GAS TECHNICIAN only!

1.

Disconnect brooder from power source and turn OFF gas supply going to the
brooder.

2.

Remove control enclosure lid [17] and knock-out plug which is located on the
left side of the control enclosure.

Remove the manifold pressure tap plug from the gas control valve and connect
pressure gauge.

4.

Reconnect brooder to power source and turn ON gas supply going to the
brooder.

5.

Return brooder to operation and read pressure gauge.  Note:  To obtain an
accurate manifold pressure reading , the brooder must be cycled on and off
several times to stabilize the pressure regulator diaphragm.

6.

The gas pressure must be measured with all gas appliances in operation that use
the same gas supply or piping.

7.

If necessary, adjust the built-in pressure regulator on the gas control valve to the
acceptable manifold pressure that is found on the ratings plate and page two of
the owners manual.

8.

To adjust the manifold gas pressure, remove the cap screw located on the top of
the pressure regulator.

9.

Using a slotted tipped screwdriver, turn the adjustment screw clockwise to
increase manifold gas pressure or counterclockwise to decrease manifold gas
pressure.

10.

Always replace cap screw and tighten firmly to prevent gas leakage.

11.

Disconnect brooder from power source and turn OFF gas supply going to the
brooder.

12.

Remove gas pressure gauge, reinstall manifold pressure plug, knockout plug, and
control enclosure lid [17].
