Lighting variants
Depending on the lighting job in hand, LED kit
variants are available where the light is emitted
symmetrically or asymmetrically. If using the
asymmetric variants, please note the dot marks
for correctly aligning to the street side.

AutomaticDimControl (ADC) setting
The LED kit is equipped with an OSRAM Optotronic4DIM
LED operating device or similar from Philips, for exam-
ple, to suit your project.
In this case, parameters for the dimming functionality
and dimming profile are set in the factory by means of
software programming as requested by the customer.
In order to set parameters for the AstroDIM function
(automatic dimming, based on midnight), the Tdimein
and Tdimaus values desired for the system and the
desired level of dimming (50% is standard) should be
communicated with the order. The values set in the
factory are shown on a sticker located next to the type
plate. The parameter settings can only be changed
using a specific programming adapter and a PC with
the corresponding programming software.
Using the PSt input, the LED kit can be added to an
existing control phase. If this is done, the existing con-
trol logic is detected automatically once switched on
for around 20min.
• (1)
Open the luminaire canopy and remove the exist-
ing device carrier.
• For luminaires with a newer date of manufacture,
the device carrier is attached to the hinge with two
screws
(S)
. With older ones, it is inserted.
• Fix the LED luminaire head unit to the hinge with the
two screws
(S)
in the case of newer luminaires, or
use the swing-out support wings
(AF)
to place it on
the hexagonal frame in the case of older luminaires.
Make sure that the recess for the cable gland
(KD)
is
in the correct position.
• (2)
In the case of an LED kit with asymmetrical light
distribution, align the light unit
(LE)
in the correct
beam direction by rotating it. Observe the dot mark-
ing
(4)
on the light outlet element.
• (3)
Connect the LED recessed luminaire head (LK); if
necessary, install the device plug.
Note: for more information about the device plug,
see back page.
Close the luminaire canopy again, then connect the
luminaire to the mains and check its function.
• Mark upgrade on LED, if necessary in the luminaire/
on the pole. Keep assembly instructions for mainte-
nance at a later date.
• Correctly dispose of removed materials/compo-
nents.
Note
If mains are frequently subject to peaks in voltage,
take additional relevant surge protection measures
as necessary.

LED kit is basically suitable for use in systems where dimming
is controlled by reducing voltage and/or varying frequency and
works independently of the voltage/frequency conditions with
a constant light output. We would recommend investigating
suitability for use on a case-by-case basis.
