SAFETY PROVISIONS FOR SWING GATES
Leaves must be extra protected against falling over. This can be done by:
•
Installing a third hinge.
If a hinge breaks, the leaf will remain suspended on the other two hinges.
•
Or a safety cable that attaches the leaf to the swing post.
Then if the top hinge breaks, the safety cable intercepts the leaf so that it re-
mains suspended on the swing post.
If the bottom hinge breaks, the leaf will remain suspended on the top hinge.
This is required in order to comply with the CE marking. Never remove this safety
cable.
