Safety
For the responsible use of the DV EC... Eco roof fan, but also for your
own safety and the safety of others, the following safety regulations
must be followed under all circumstances:
3.1 General safety regulations
m
Follow the safety regulations and instructions specified in this
manual under all circumstances.
m
Ensure that the fan or the not (yet) anchored parts of the fan and
tools cannot fall/blow away or cause damage or injury in any
other way.
m
When the fan is completely or partly dismantled, ensure that
nobody can touch rotating or live parts.
m
Never leave a (partly) dismantled fan, which is connected to the
mains, unattended.
m
Ensure that live parts do not come into contact with moisture.
m
The fan must be assembled in such a way that there is no risk of
anybody touching the side of the fan which does not have a pro-
tective grille (see DIN EN ISO 13857).
m
During assembly, do not allow moisture to enter the control unit.
The control unit must be covered in case of rain or fog!
m
Activation / deactivation:
EC fans can be frequently activated and deactivated via the 0-10
V control input or the release input depending on the type. This is
gentle on the electronics and ensures a long service life. Control
via the power supply (on/off) is not recommended. In general,
there must be an interval of at least 120 seconds between activa-
tion and deactivation.
m
Maintenance:
Waiting time at least 5 minutes !
When using capacitors, there is danger to life after deactivation
due to the direct touching of live parts.
Terminal compartment
access is only permitted after power supply is discon-
nected and 5-minute waiting period.

4.1 General specifications
Fan properties
The following diagrams (page 4) show the air performance at different
speeds.
Discharge-side noise level
The discharge-side (= air discharge-side) sound pressure level in
dB(A) was measured at a distance of 4 metres in a horizontal direc-
tion under free field conditions and clear intake
(Ref. 2 · 10
–5
N/m
2
).
The larger the distance to the noise source (= fan), the greater the
reduction of noise level. At double the distance approx. 6 dB(A).
Intake-side noise level
The intake-side sound power level in dB(A) was measured on the
intake-side of the fan (Ref. 10
–12
W).
