6.3 Foot switch settings
After connecting the foot switch at the back, the required mode must be set at the front. To set
the mode, press the button of the foot switch, until the LED is lit next to the desired setting.
Double and single footswitches can be used:

With the
double foot switch
you can activate the cutting or coagulation power (if set) by pressing
the pedal
◼
With the
single footswitch
you can only activate the set mode. It must be selected by pressing the
foot switch symbol.
6.4 Handles with buttons
Activating the handle with buttons takes place independently oft he foot switch settings. These cannot be
activated by using the foot switch.
6.5 Neutral electrode settings and attachment
In the monopolar operating mode, a neutral electrode is required.
After attaching the neutral electrode to the patient, the HF unit recognizes the neutral electrode
automatically (cf. 3.2 Übersicht der Symbole für Betriebsmodi und Einstellungen). Das HBS 100
Varex recognizes neutral electrodes with divided and undivided contact surfaces.

If the displaxed neutral electrode type does not agree with the used
neutral electrode type, this is indicative of poor adhesion oft he neutral
electrode on the patient, a defective neutral electrode or a defective
cable!
