Disposal of condensate is subject to local codes and ordinances. In some locals the
condensate drain system may be connected to a sanitary drain within the building. Some
municipalities require that the acidic condensate produced be neutralized before being
discharged into the sanitary sewer. A condensate neutralizer kit should be used.
Never connect condensate drains directly into a closed sewer line.
If connection to
a sewer is permitted by code, drain line must terminate in an open sewer tap (separated
from sewer pipe with an air gap).
