C. Facing Material
• Metal front faces may be covered with non-combustible
materials only.
• Facing and/or finishing materials must not interfere with
air flow through louvers, operation of louvers or doors,
or access for service.
• Facing and/or finishing materials must never overhang
into the glass opening.
• Observe all clearances when applying combustible
materials.
• Seal joints between the finished wall and appliance top
and sides using a 300 ºF minimum sealant. Refer to
Figure 13.4.

D. Doors and Surrounds
ATLAS Surround Requirements
When installing this fireplace for use with the Atlas
surround, the fireplace must be raised from the floor a
minimum of 5.75 inches for proper fit of the surround. See
instructions included with Atlas Surround for more details.
The EVEREST-B model is shipped with the door installed.
E. Hearth Extensions
A hearth extension may be desirable for aesthetic reasons.
However, ANSI or CAN/CGA testing standards
do not
require hearth extensions for gas fireplace appliances.
