Step One
: Remove the contents of the firebox. This will include the owner’s manual, 2 boxes of
soapstone refractory bricks, and the handle.
NOTE
: In most cases it will not be necessary to remove the baffle / secondary air plenum (includes the
secondary air pipes) from the firebox to complete the installation. However, in some installations where
the clearances are tight, it may be necessary to remove the baffle / secondary air plenum. Removing the
baffle will allow you to connect the flue liner to the flue collar in a confined space. To remove the baffle
/ secondary air plenum, first loosen the two socket head bolts that hold it in place with a 5/32” allen
wrench (see Photo #2). Once these bolts are loosened, lift the baffle assembly off the bolts and
maneuver it so it can be laid on the floor of the firebox.
