Care and Maintenance (cont.)
1. Shut off the he
a
ter, including the pilot. Allow the heater to cool for at least 30 minutes.
2. Inspect the burner, pilot, and primary air inlet holes on the orifice holder for dirt and debris (see Fig. 28).
3. Blow air through the ports/slots and holes in the burner.
4. Check the orifice holder again, which is located at the end of the burner tube. With a cloth or vacuum
cleaner nozzle, remove any large particles of dust, dirt, or other debris.
5. Blow air into the primary air holes on the orifice holder.
6. Repeat steps 3 and 4. Clumps of dust/debris may have been pushed into the burner.
Clean the pilot assembly. A yellow tip on the pilot flame indic

pilot air inlet hole is about 2" from where the pilot flame comes out of the pilot assembly (see Fig. 29).
Ensure the heat
er is off
, and lightly blow air through the air inlet hole. If you do not have compressed air,
blowing through a drinking straw will also work.
