possible to implement longer cables or smaller wire cross-sections than with
a 12 VDC rating.
4. Read off voltage and minimum current for the (plug-in type) power supply
unit required. The power supply unit should be electronically controlled.
5. Both of the tables below (for C16i3 or the new C16i4 load cells) specify the
maximum possible cable length between the junction box and weighing
display when the power is supplied via a weighing display (
also see
Fig. 5.2 ).
However, if the cable length required on site is longer, then there is an
option to supply the load cells with an external power supply directly via the
junction box. Cable lengths of up to a maximum of 500 m can thus be
achieved (
see Fig. 5.3 ).
If type C16i3 and C16i4 load cells are used simultaneously in a weighing
device (e.g. due to maintenance work), then the maximum possible cable
length when power is supplied via the weighing display can be calculated on
our website:

For C16i4 (fourth generation – expected to be available from mid 2021)
The generation can be clearly identified by the item number.
The item number is detailed on the bottom row of the load cell type plate and
on the packaging label.
