Before first use
1. Remove all packaging material from the unit. Keep plastic bags
away from children.
2. Clean all parts of the percolator thoroughly by following the
instructions in the ”Maintenance” section.
3. Run one cycle of fresh, cold water (without ground coffee) through
the unit by following the instructions in the ”Use” section.
4. A short power supply cord is provided to reduce the risk
of entangling or tripping. Extension cord may be used with
carefulness. If an extension cord is used, the marked electrical
rating of the extension cord must be at least as great as the
electrical rating of the appliance (see type plate on bottom of
product). The extension cord must be arranged so that it will not
hang over the counter or table top; where it may be pulled on by
children or tripped over.
Use
1. Remove the cover, coffee
basket lid and basket, and the
pump tube.
2. Fill the percolator with water up
to the desired marking. Use
cold water for best result.
Warning:
Do not fill with water
over the ”6 / 0.75 L” (Helena 2.0) / ”12 / 1.5 L” (Helena 4.1)
marking. If the coffee percolator is overfilled, boiling water may be
ejected and scalding may occur.
3. Run cold water over the coffee basket. It helps prevent ground
coffee from getting stuck in the holes of the coffee basket. Add
a desired amount of coffee in the basket. Distribute the coffee
evenly.
Important:
Use coffee designed especially for percolators. Finer
ground coffee might shift through the holes of the coffee basket.
4. Place the pump tube and coffee basket into the percolator so
