PRE OPERATION CHECKLIST
Efficient and safe operation of the Harriston planter requires that each operator reads and
understands the operating procedures and all related safety precautions outlined in this section.
A pre-operation checklist is provided for the operator. It is important for both personal safety
and maintaining the good mechanical condition of the machine that this checklist is followed.
Before operating the planter and each time thereafter, the following areas should be checked:
1.
Lubricate the machine per the schedule outlined in the Maintenance Section.
2.
Check the drives for entangled material.
3.
Check that the clamps are not broken or bent. Replace or straighten as required.
4.
Check the chains and sprockets for proper tension and alignment. Adjust as required.
5.
Ensure that all bearings turn freely.
6.
Make sure all guards and shields are in place secured, and functioning as designed.
7.
Check that all hydraulic fittings and connections are tight and in good condition
