Section 2 Installation / Initial Turn-On
ATLAS Series™
2.13 Initial Turn-On
Read and understand the entire initial turn-on procedure before starting. Detailed
use of all GUI screens is given in Section 3 Operation.
Shut off all of the front panel breakers.
Apply 3 phase primary power to the transmitter.
Be ready to quickly disconnect
the power if necessary.
Engage the primary AC disconnect switch, S3 on the front breaker panel of the
transmitter cabinet.
Turn on the Control circuit breaker, CB1 and turn on the ac mains switch on
the rear of the exciter(s)
. This should apply power to the exciter(s). If the optional
exciter UPS (Un-interruptible Power Supply) is installed it should be active at this
time. Some UPS units have an on/off switch which must be pressed.
Turn on the fan circuit breaker, CB4.
This will start the cabinet flushing fans in
the back door.
If the fans do not start, disconnect the primary power and check the
ac wiring, including the T1 tap on TB4.
Turn on the LVPS1 and optional LVPS2 (Low Voltage Power Supply) circuit
breakers, CB2 and CB3.
This will activate LVPS1 and optional LVPS2 and power
up the transmitter control system. The GUI display should show the Home (default)
screen shown in Figure 2-4. Try using the touchscreen buttons on the right side of
the GUI display (not the hardware buttons to the right of the GUI). If they do not
seem to be working or only work when pressed outside the button graphic, then go
to
"5.7 Touch Screen Calibration" on page 5-11
before continuing. If the buttons
are working then proceed on to the next step.
