About the Spectrum X
The Spectrum X can operate in either
internal storage
mode or
shared storage
mode.
In internal storage mode, the Spectrum X provides four hot-swappable drives and up to 12 TB of usable
storage. In shared storage mode, the Spectrum X can be connected to a MediaDirector 2252B, 2252B-
DS, or 2251B, or a MediaCenter 2200B.
Some features include:
• Codec support includes HD/SD MPEG-2, SD DV (DV 25, DVCPRO 25, and DVCPRO 50), DVCPRO
HD, VC-3, XDCAM HD, AVC I-Frame, AVC-Ultra, and XAVC Long GOP.
• Support for ingest and playout of 3G HD: 1080p @ 50 and 60 Hz (50, 59.94)
• Integrated branding and graphics control for four to eight layers of graphics is supported by the Oxtel
control protocol.
• Up to four video inputs and outputs.
• Automation support includes all Spectrum systems. Supports all Oxtel protocol automation systems,
with clip playback control via Spectrum API or VDCP/BVW (RS-422).
• Master Control Switching supports switching between live inputs and prerecorded clips.
• Support for Emergency Alert System (EAS) is available as a license option for use only in the United
States. EAS data and audio is provided by customer’s EAS equipment.
• Support for audio profiles containing down-mix and voice-over parameters, which can be mapped to
Spectrum X channel sources.
• Support for UHD playout, which includes the following:
◦ Support for AVC-Intra Class 300 with the MXF OP1a wrapper.
