Fan Replacement
NOTE:
The fan assembly mounted on the HMC 4000 carrier may be replaced
without removing or disabling the PWRLink II transmitter module.
Under normal headend and central office environmental conditions,
the transmitter can operate without fan cooling for a limited time.
Should a fan failure occur, contact Harmonic’s technical service (see Section
Section 6.2).
To replace the fan:
1. Disconnect the fan’s power cable.
2. Remove the four Phillips head screws, shown in Figure 5-1, that secure the
fan to the module housing.
3. Replace the failed fan unit with a new fan unit.
4. Secure the new fan unit with the four Phillips head screws.
5. Reconnect the power cable.
