Operating the Monocular Without the Illuminator

Warning:

If you are not in a dark area, do not remove the lens cap.

1.

In a near dark environment, remove the Lens Cap (2) from the Objective Lens (3)-see
Figure 1.

2.

Push the Power Button (4) down to view an object-see Figure 1.

3.

Focus the Eyepiece (5)  and the Objective lens (3) by turning them until the object you are
viewing is clearly seen-see Figure 1.

4.

As you are viewing an object, over a period of time the image will slowly fade as the unit
shuts itself off. To refresh the image, push down on the Power Button (4) again.

5.

When you have finished viewing an object, replace the Lens Cap immediately.

Operating the Monocular with the Illuminator/LED Light

1.

Use the LED when operating in total darkness.

2.

Push the Power Button (4) down to view an object-see Figure 1.

3.

Push the LED Button (6) down.  

The LED Button (6) must continously be held down in order

to view an object while in total darkness.

4.

Focus the Eyepiece (5)  and the Objective lens (3) by turning them until the object you are
viewing is clearly seen-see Figure 1.

5.

When you no longer need the illuminator, release the LED Button (6) and the image will
slowly fade as the unit shuts itself off.

6.

Replace the Lens Cap immediately.

Tube Screen Appearance

1.

Light and dark spots caused by an image converter tube may be visible in the field of view.
These are normal  and are not considered imperfections by imaging intensifier standards.
Most distortion will occur in the peripheral area, not in the center-see Figure 2 below.
