Adding dishwasher salt
NOTICE
Risk of damage!
You may damage the dishwasher and
its stainless steel surface by using dish-
washer salt in an improper manner.
■
Only use regenerating salt which is
specifi cally intended for dishwashers.
■
Always wipe away split dishwasher
salt immediately with a damp cloth.
■
Immediately after adding the dish-
washer salt, launch a dishwashing
program.
You don’t need to add dishwashing
salt to the dishwashing salt compart-
ment if
– you are exclusively using multitabs which
already contain dishwasher salt,
– the water hardness in your area is in the
0–5° dH range.
Otherwise add dishwasher salt:

– if the LED (8) lights up
– prior to the first use.

1. Remove the lower dish rack.
2. Turn the cover of the dishwasher salt
compartment (17) in an anti-clockwise di-
rection and remove it.
3. Upon first use: Add 1.5 l water to the dish-
washer salt compartment so that the dish-
washer salt doesn’t clump.

4. Place the supplied filling funnel (b) on the
compartment opening.
5. Add dishwasher salt up to the edge of the
compartment.
6. Stir the dishwasher salt using the end of a
spoon or similar.
7. Turn the cover of the dishwasher salt
compartment in a clockwise direction up
to the stop point.
8. Replace the lower dish rack.
9. Launch a dishwashing program straight
away or carry out a test run immediately
upon first use (see page GB-28).
