Unpacking the
appliance
NOTICE

Improper handling of the
appliance may result in dam-

Do not use any sharp ob-
jects to unpack the appli-
ance.
1. Unpack the kettle.
2. Carefully remove all pieces
of packaging, plastic profiles,
tape and foam padding.
Choosing a suitable
location
• Position the kettle on a solid,
level, non-sensitive surface.
• Do not position the kettle un-
der an overhead cupboard.
• Position the kettle in such
a way that there is enough
space above it to open the lid.
• Do not place the kettle directly
on or next to a stove or anoth-
er heat source.
• Set up the kettle in such a way
that it is out of the reach of
children.

Improper use of the appli-

For hygiene reasons, pour
away the fi rst three batches
of boiled water from your
new kettle.
■
Heat and pour away a full
batch of water after desca-
ling and after prolonged
periods of disuse.
1. Clean the kettle as described
in section „Cleaning the kettle“
on page EN-17.
2. Fill the jug with fresh tap water
to the MAX of fill level indica-
tor (5) and heat it as described
in section „Heating water“ on
page EN-13.
3. Pour this batch away after
heating.
4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 two to
three times.
