Safety notices
In this chapter you will fi nd
general safety notices which
you must always observe for
your own protection and that
of third parties. Please also
observe the warning notices
in the individual chapters on
operation, cleaning, etc.
WARNING
Risks in handling
household electrical
appliances
Risk of electric shock!
Touching live parts may result
in severe injury or death.
■
The supply cord should
be regularly examined for
signs of damage and the
appliance is not to be used
if the cord is damaged.
If this is the case, do not
switch the appliance on, in-
stead contact our custom-
er service department (see
Seite EN-23).
■
Only connect the appliance
if the mains voltage at the
socket corresponds to what
is indicated on the name-
plate.
■
Remove the mains plug im-
mediately if the appliance
–
shows visible signs of
damage, e.g. the mains
cord is defective;
–
starts smoking or there is
a burning smell;
–
makes unfamiliar noises.
■
If the mains cord is dam-
aged, the manufacturer, its
customer service team or a
person with similar qualifi -
cations must replace it to
avoid risks.
■
Do not use the appliance
if it exhibits operation-
al faults or has been dam-
aged in any way.
■
Do not attempt to repair an
appliance which is defec-
tive or could be defective.
■
Changes and repairs to the
appliance may only be car-
ried out by authorised spe-
cialists such as our service
team (see Seite EN-23). Un-
authorised repairs to the
appliance can cause prop-
erty damage and personal
injury, and invalidate liabili-
ty and warranty claims.
