Operation
NOTICE
Risk of damage!
Improper handling of the appliance may result in dam-
age.
• Do not use any electric heating appliances, naked
flames or ice scrapers for defrosting purposes. The
insulation could melt or become scratched.
• Do not use corrosive and abrasive cleaning agents
or sponges for cleaning. They could damage the
surfaces. All-purpose cleaners with a neutral pH are
recommended.
1. Turn the thermostat control
3
to ‘7’ at least 3 hours before
defrosting. This way, the frozen food gets a cold reserve and
does not thaw so fast.
2. After 3 hours, set the temperature controller to ‘0’ and pull the
mains plug out of the socket.
3. Remove the frozen food. Wrap it thickly in newspaper and
place it in a laundry basket in a cool room. You can also use
the fridge.
4. To accelerate defrosting, place a bowl of hot, but not boiling,
water in the freezer compartment. This will accelerate the
defrosting process.
5. Leave the door open during defrosting. Place a floor cloth in
front of the appliance to absorb thaw water.
The defrosting time depends on the thickness of the ice layer.
Experience shows that you can start to clean the appliance
after approximately one hour.
6. Wipe the interior with warm rinsing water.
7. The door seal is sensitive to oil and grease. Only clean it with
clean water and let it dry thoroughly.
8. After cleaning thoroughly rub everything dry, including the
door seal, and briefly allow to air.
9. Insert the mains plug back into the socket and turn the tem-
perature controller
3
to ‘7’.
10. Place your frozen food back into the freezer.
11. As soon as a temperature of -18°C has been reached, you
can turn the temperature controller back to the usual position.
