WARNING
Health hazard!
An increase in the temperature of the frozen food dur-
ing defrosting can shorten the shelf life of the frozen
food.
• Ensure that the frozen food is kept sufficiently cool
during defrosting.
CAUTION
Risk of injury!
Improper handling of the freezer can lead to skin dam-
age and injuries.
• Never touch the inside walls or frozen food with wet
hands. Injuries can also occur with dry hands though.
• Use a dry towel to remove the frozen food.
NOTICE
Risk of damage!
Improper handling of the freezer may result in dam-
age.
• Do not use any electric heating appliances, open
flames, ice scrapers, knives, etc. to defrost. The in-
sulation could melt or become scratched.
1. Set the temperature controller
1
to ‘MAX’ at least 3 hours be-
fore defrosting. This way, the frozen food gets a cold reserve
and does not defrost as quickly.
2. After 3 hours, set the temperature controller
1
to "MIN" and
pull the mains plug out of the socket.
3. Take out the frozen food. Wrap it thickly in newspaper and
place it in a laundry basket in a cool room or refrigerator.
4. To accelerate defrosting, place a bowl of hot, but not boiling,
water in the freezer.
5. Leave the door open while defrosting. Place a floor cloth in
front of the freezer to absorb thaw water.
The defrosting time depends on the thickness of the ice lay-
er. Experience shows that you can start to clean the freezer
after approximately one hour.
6. Wipe the interior with warm rinsing water.
