DAILY SERVICE

Cleaning

It is a good practice to clean the entire Twin Merger at the end of each day. Getting the chaff and crop off
the Twin Merger when it is dry will save the appearance and finish of the merger. It also gives the operator
a opportunity to check the machine up close to keep it operating properly. Before starting to merge the
next day, it is good practice to engage the PTO and run the Windrow Merger. This will loosen and
discharge any material that has dried in the heads or cross conveyor overnight.

Oil Level/Temp Gauge (Self-Contained System)

Check the oil level on the self-contained system tank daily. There is a
high and low level mark on the gauge. Check the pump, hoses, filter and
tank daily for oil leaks as you are cleaning.

Pickups & Hay Strippers

Check the pickup teeth daily that none were broken or
damaged by field obstructions to insure proper field
performance.

Oil Filter (Self-Contained System)

The spin-on hydraulic oil filter should be changed at least once a
year or prior if filter becomes clogged  during the season. To change
the filter;

1. Clean away any debris from around the filter area.

2. Remove the spin-on filter with a filter wrench and properly
discard.

3. Lubricate the rubber ring of the new spin-on filter with oil or grease.
This will help to insure a proper seal.

4. Install the new spin-on oil filter and tighten with both hands as
tight as possible.

5. Run the Merger to make sure that the oil filter does not leak around
the base. If leakage occurs, slightly tighten  with the filter wrench.
