Terminations
1) Maintainthe1-1/2"clearances,exceptwhen
passing through a wall, ceiling, or at the
terminationwheretheuseofafirestopor
wallthimblereducestherequiredclearance
to1".Donotpackairspaceswithinsulation.
Checkthe"VentingArrangement"section
forthemaximumverticalriseoftheventing
systemandthemaximumhorizontaloffset
limitations.
2) Setthegasapplianceinitsdesiredlocation.
Drop a plumb bob down from the ceiling
to the position of the appliance flue exit,
andmarkthelocationwheretheventwill
penetratetheceiling.Drillasmallholeat
thispoint.Next,dropaplumbbobfromthe
rooftotheholepreviouslydrilledintheceil-
ing,andmarkthespotwheretheventwill
penetratetheroof.Determineifceilingjoists,
roofraftersorotherframingwillobstructthe
ventingsystem.Youmaywishtorelocatethe
applianceortooffset,asshownindiagram
8toavoidcuttingloadbearingmembers.

7) InstalltheBackingPlateintothewallpenetra-
tionheatshieldandattachusing4screws.

8) Connectallpipesectionstounitandinstall
intowall:
a) Measure pipe length required and cut to
length.Hint:usethecutendofthe6-5/8"
dia.outerpipeattheventterminalend.
b) Pushthepipesectionscompletelytogether,
theminimumpipeoverlapis1-1/4".Secure
all outer pipe joints by using at least two
screws.Locatethescrewsatthebottomof
thepipesothatthescrewheadsarehidden
onthefinalinstallation.
NOTE: For best results and optimum
performance with each approved vent-
ing system, it is highly recommended
to apply “Mill-Pac” sealant (supplied) to
every inner pipe connection. Failure to do
so may result in drafting or performance
issues not covered under warranty.

c) Beforeconnectingtheventpipetothevent
termination,slidetheblackdecorativewall
thimblecoverovertheventpipe,thenslide
theWallPenetrationHeatShieldoverthe
ventpipe.Dia.3.
d) Slide the appliance and vent assembly
towardsthewallcarefullyinsertingthevent
pipeintotheriserventterminalassembly.It
isimportantthattheventpipeextendsinto
the RiserVent Backing Plate a sufficient
distancesoastoresultinaminimumpipe
overlap of 1-1/4 inches. Secure the con-
nectionbetweentheventpipeandthevent
capbyattachingthetwosheetmetalstrips
extendingfromtheRiserVentBackingPlate
intotheouterwalloftheventpipe.Usetwo
aluminumscrewsprovidedtoconnectthe
stripstothepipesection.Bendanyremain-
ing portion of the sheet metal strip back
towardstheventcapandcutoffanyexcess,
itwillbeconcealedbythedecorativewall
thimblecover.Seediagram5.
9) Slidethedecorativewallthimbleuptothe
wallsurfacebeingcarefulnottoscratchthe
paint.Seediagram5.
10)Backoutside:Applysealanttothe4"inner
flueandslidetheRiserVentFrontintothe
BackingPlateandfastenwith8screws.
IMPORTANT:
When connecting the pipe to the Riser
Vent, apply Mill-Pac to the inner pipe on
the Riser Vent Terminal, around the bead.
Ensure that the vent pipe is pushed past
the bead for a secure fit.
11)Seal around the outer edge of the Riser
VentBackingPlate.
